In Episode 9 of my podcast, I get honest and tell you why sometimes I just want to quit and go work at Costco.

My entrepreneurial streak goes back to childhood… I was the lemonade-stand dreaming girl who grew into a fully commissioned real estate agent, then an eBay reseller, then (yes, I’ll admit it) an MLM joiner, before finally opening Vida Counseling in 2020. But this episode isn’t really about business strategy for me. It’s about que dirá la gente. The fear of being watched, judged, and possibly seen failing, especially as a first-gen Latina who’s “supposed” to have it all figured out after earning a PhD.

I get vulnerable about the pandemic years…grieving my cousin, holding my clients’ pain while barely holding my own, and fantasizing about a no-decisions, clock-in-clock-out job. What pulled me through was community, coaching, and a stubborn recommitment to building something fully mine.

My message to anyone sitting with their own fear: the fear isn’t a sign to stop. It’s a sign it matters. Do it scared. Do it with a plan on failing, if you have to, because failing isn’t really failing, it’s just adapting.
